Now that we have established the basis for developing your brand, let’s move into the 2nd phase of brand development. In the first part, you should have defined how you want your brand perceived, what it will say about your company, and how you want your brand remembered. Don’t take that step lightly because it will have a major impact in your company’s success in the long-run. Think about the negative things that are said about some of the major brand-names like Wal-Mart, Coca-Cola, or McDonald’s. These companies established these things and defined their brands so that they could shape what they would be known for.

The next steps will be to start working on your company name, logo, color scheme, company mantra, mission statement and vision statement.

These should all feed off of each other in the development phase and will be easy to establish once you have determined what you will represent and how you want to be perceived.

Your Company Name should be one that is simple and memorable while tells who your company is. Team Ten Media is simple and easy to remember, especially when we use the shortened version Team Ten or Team 10. The way we came up with the name Team Ten Media falls in line with exactly what we are talking about here. The word TEAM came from the fact that we use the power of a team for the benefit of our clients. We also want our clients to know that we work as a team and become a part of their team while working with them. The number TEN came about because we started as a team of 10 people working together to start this company. We also used the number TEN because of how easy it flows with the word TEAM when we want potential clients to remember our name.

Your Logo and Color Scheme should fall right in line with your company name. As a production company, we wanted to make sure our brand was consistent with our target market. As you can see we specialize in corporate development and promotion and even though we do all types of video production and photography, we made sure our brand was more clean and corporate. There are an unlimited number of color schemes that you can create for your logo, but remember that even colors have meanings. Our primary color was chosen because yellow symbolizes wisdom, joy, happiness, and intellect. Make sure your colors look good together, but that they also symbolize what you want them to.

We are going to continue with the company mantra, mission statement and vision statement on the next blog post. We could add it on here, but we want to go a little more in depth because it is an important step and deserves it’s own post. Stay Tuned!

There is more that goes into building and developing your brand than most people think, BUT when it is something you are passionate about and love to do, it won’t be a hard task to complete. Branding your company involves creating your logo, developing a color scheme, coming up with a company name, writing your mission and vision statements, and establishing your company motto. All of this will be easy as long as you can answer one key question – How do you want to be perceived by your target customer base?

If you are an attorney, real estate agent, or other business professional than you want your brand to portray your business as someone that is trustworthy and professional. If you are marketing toward kids or parents, you might want a more playful, less serious, brand.
If you are an attorney, real estate agent, or other business professional than you want your brand to portray your business as someone that is trustworthy and professional. If you are marketing toward kids or parents, you might want a more playful, less serious, brand. The perception that you want to give to your target customers will tell you everything you need to know about how you should go about developing your brand.

Here are 3 questions that you should answer before you move on to our next steps in the process of creating or developing your brand:

What you, as a company, stand for or represent?

What do you want your brand to say about you?

How do you want to be remembered when people see your brand?

Once you answer those 3 questions, you can check back here for the next steps in the Branding Process.
